Alone in the Dark but with Pattern


I am going to defend the couple in this picture.  It is better to be early than late.  Besides, since I took this picture, I must have been early, also.

The problem with this shot was the great difference in light levels.  Of course, I decided to allow the back of the room be a little dark to bring the far and near walls to a better exposure level.  I was willing to let the windows be bright.  Another approach would be to produce a HDR picture.  The problem was that I did not have a tripod.  I still like the shot.

  1. I think you did quite well with the shot. I have never seen a church with one level of light throughout, so don't sweat it. Speaking of HDR...sometimes you can place yourself against a wall and steady yourself enough to pull off a 3 shot bracket using your in-camera menu to do so.
