Morning Light at Grand Canyon

Canon 5DII, 50mm lens, f/11.0, 1/250 sec, ISO 160, HDR

This image is another example of the lighting in the Canyon being produced by the morning sun and the low clouds.  The HDR was produced with three frames of -2, 0, +2 exposure.

  1. I really like this. Great detail. Wonderful color. It must have been a very moving experience to be standing in this place and look over the vast canyon.

  2. I like this one Wayne. I think you could push the HDR to get a little more out of it. I am mainly speaking to the flat light at the top of the frame. Nice job either way.

  3. Thanks for sharing my image. I am still trying to decide what I feel about HDR pictures. Sometime I saturate and at others times I try to match normal pictures? The important part about being at the Grand Canyon was that my daughter and wife were right next to me taking pictures.

  4. This looks like an oil painting. Hmmm, that sounds backward somehow.
